  2.             Using Discis VIS CD-ROM Titles on Sensation
  3.  
  4.                            INSTALLATION
  5.  
  6. 1.  Insert the CD-ROM labelled "System Disc" in the CD-ROM drive of 
  7. the Sensation.
  8.  
  9. 2.  Exit Windows and return to the DOS prompt.
  10.  
  11. 3.  Type 
  12.     D: <ENTER>
  13.     CD\VIS
  14.     VINSTALL<ENTER>
  15.  
  16. 4.  The first screen is the General Configuration screen which will 
  17. note what DOS, CD-ROM extensions, and Video the install has found.  
  18. With the mouse, click on NEXT.
  19.  
  20. 5.  The second screen is the Memory Configuration screen.  This 
  21. screen will report the amount of DOS and XMS memory found.  With the 
  22. mouse, click on NEXT.
  23.  
  24. 6.  The next screen is the Discis Environment Variable screen.  
  25. There are two items to note on this screen. 
  26.  
  27. a)  The first prompt is the "Use drive" prompt for which drive the 
  28. Discis program will use to store program information.  Be sure this 
  29. is set at drive C.
  30.  
  31.  b)  The next prompt is labeled "Click on this button to select 
  32. which audio card you want Discis Books to use:".  The default is 
  33. "Sound Blaster."    Click on this box to change it to "VIS 
  34. MultiMedia BIOS."  Then click on the SET button in the lower left 
  35. corner of the screen.  
  36.  
  37. 7.  The Custom Settings Configuration screen will be displayed next.  
  38. Click on the CREATE button to create the Discis directory.  Then 
  39. click NEXT.
  40.  
  41. 8.  The next screen is the Windows Installation screen.  This screen 
  42. will note that the VIS BIOS option cannot currently be used with 
  43. Windows and this option will install the software on the hard drive 
  44. without configuring for Windows.  Click on the INSTALL button.  
  45.  
  46. 9.  The Audio Configuration screen is displayed next.  At this 
  47. screen you may click TEST to confirm that the sound is working 
  48. properly.  Click NEXT to go to the next screen.
  49.  
  50. 10.  The last screen is For Your Information ... Keyboard Commands.  
  51. This is the keyboard keys which can be used when 'reading' a Discis 
  52. book.  Click EXIT.

  54. 11.  Reset your computer.

  57.                        RUNNING THE PROGRAMS
  58.  
  59. 1.  Start your computer and return to the DOS prompt.  
  60.  
  61. 2.  Insert your Discis VIS program CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
  62.  
  63. 3.  At the C: prompt, type the following to start the program:
  64.  
  65.     CD\DISCIS<ENTER>
  66.     VDISCIS<ENTER>
  67.  
  68. 4.  Use your mouse to select options on the screen.
  69.
